Yes, thought traditions have changed, we do have our memories and we continue to celebrate Easter in our own way, though different from Grandma and Grandpa's ways. I enjoy learning about past Easter’s you, my mom and my aunts had. I can visualize the mirrors-( I did not know or remember the sheets over the mirrors)- at the house in Merrillville and you running around in the pink dress, white tights and patent leather shoes. I also did not know about the fasting but that also makes sense with the old school Sicilian ways. THe big family gatherings were the best and I used to love to play card games like 7 Up, Uno and whatever else we could do down in the basement. Although traditions have changed, we still have our memories and continue meeting to celebrate Easter. This year at mom’s in Valparaiso on Saturday and on Sunday at Bob and Donna’s in Ladoga before taking Alexa back to Muncie for college. Thanks for taking about the panereddri. I didn’t like the hard boiled eggs growing up but as an adult I can appreciate the tradition and art that it took to make the special Easter treats.

So many memories sis! One of my most favorite memory is getting that pretty new dress that I got to pick out, which made me so happy, since I wasn’t a tomboy. We are so blessed to grow up with a wonderful mom and dad who taught us the value of family, love and tradition!
