That was so much fun. My first experience with full on "Yoga In The Dark." Third eye focus and balance was the order of the day. And yes, participants were much quieter than in a regular lit studio class. For me it was more than likely my need for greater focus and a constant association with location and placement of my Yoga tools ( Props) which I use a lot of; including bolster, blanket, a couple of straps, multiple blocks and Grip-ItZ. :) My eye pillows stayed packed and were not necessary for this special class. I can't remember that last time I didn't make use of my eye pillows at some point in a Yoga class.

Thanks you Fran for carrying us on a wonderful adventure. An experience I can chalk up as my very first official "Yoga In The Dark" practice. Namaste __/\__ Vester

You are right...the eyes cannot judge the body in the darkness...in darkness we resort to feeling and intuitive observations. Thanks for writing what you did! -Fran

In reply to <a href="https://frangallo.com/yoga-in-the-dark/#comment-73529">Brenda</a>.

Hi Brenda, I love what you wrote. I was so nervous about people feeling frightened of the dark. I had no idea how powerful it would be. And I had no idea how grounding certain poses would be and how my voice would be one of the instruments in helping you and others feel comfortable in unchartered territory. Balance was really hard for me in the dark, too, especially tree pose! I will be sure to offer this workshop again in the future! -Fran
