A little while back, a barred owl landed on a tree by the path leading to the forest just outside of our door at Ocean Shores. And there he sat patiently for hours! We realized he was waiting for dark to come, waiting for something tasty to come his way. Patience paid off. Later, long after he had flown away, we noticed there below where he had been perched lay a bolus consisting of the bones and hair of a rat!
