No, not yoga from a deck of cards…
I mean, Yoga practiced on a deck overlooking the main part of Puget Sound on an unusually calm and warm late spring evening. A taste of serenity and peace…
Yesterday, a group of friends from Seattle Athletic Club gathered at Doug’s house and I led everyone in an early evening outdoor yoga session on Doug’s brand new beautiful deck overlooking the sound! Rick joined us, too, and had a great time. The session was supposed to begin at 6 pm, but I was 15 minutes late, so our session began 20 minutes late. If you know me, you know that I DON’T DO LATE very well, and take great pride in being on time, so I was a bit frantic when I arrived. I quickly relaxed as Doug’s wife, Debbie, opened the door, greeted me warmly, gave me a big hug, and said, “Everyone’s outside on the deck having a great time.” All the while, sweet dog Clementine stood nearby and let me rub her soft silky long ears. By the time I reached the back door and saw the group gathered on the deck with the awe inspiring view, I was there!
The day could not have been more beautiful. It was 61 degrees, but felt warmer because there was not even a slight breeze coming off the sound and the sun was beaming on us. We were surrounded by fresh clean spring air, birdsong, lush landscaping, lilacs in bloom, and a breathtaking view of water and mountains! We all enjoyed doing yoga in this relaxing and inspiring environment.
After the yoga session, we had dinner. Our meal was delicious and we all enjoyed spending time together! At some point, I looked at my watch and was surprised to see it was already 9:30 pm and ever so sorry the evening had to come to an end so quickly!
Thank you, Doug and Debbie, for opening up your beautiful home to us and for this special yoga experience. My body and soul felt nourished!
You know, Nikoel, I was in a hurry to post these pictures! I think they are really beautiful!
You are so fast! Thank you! I had such a wonderful time and am in love with every one of these pictures!
