Feliz Navidad from Sayulita!

We just had Christmas eve dinner at Terraz’ola, a restaurant on the beach.

A Cuban band played great music tonight at Terraz’ola.  The main singer looked like a Cuban version of Barry White and his voice was great. Two of the cutest puppies roamed around the restaurant sniffing around for food droppings.  Both puppies were collared and definitely well fed, but still I couldn’t resist feeding them under our table, teaching them bad habits.

The waves were immense today, wild and dangerous.  Earlier today we watched a rescue mission in progress.  A local team of rescuers saved a woman who couldn’t get back in to shore. The waves carried her from one end of the beach to the other, a distance of a mile, towards the rock cliffs.  She was very lucky indeed.  I felt we were all lucky today because the rescuers managed to save a life.  Later Rick and I retreated to the safety of our swimming pool.  In our pool, we swam, played in the water, and tried to plan out our futures!

Later at dinner, Rick began our toast, “To the wonderful ambiguity of our future” and I added, “And to the certainty of THIS moment.”

Feliz Navidad!  Enjoy the short slide show:
