Just got back from visiting friends in Tumble Creek. I love how Seattle rain quickly becomes powdery snow as you drive east. We had a great time visiting our friends Sigrid and Mike and enjoyed cuddling with their little guy, Bunter. We had to come home today right after breakfast because there is an expected additional 3 feet of snow coming down over the pass today and blizzard-like conditions expected tomorrow (over the pass and eastward).
And before I post some photos from today, I’d like to add that I just learned Georg Feuerstein passed away recently (August). He spent most of his life exploring and writing about authentic yoga wisdom. He authored many wonderful books on yoga philosophy and will continue to be one of my great teachers.
Yoga is like an ancient river, it has countless rapids, eddies, loops, tributaries, and backwaters and extends over a vast, colorful terrain of many different habitats. So when we speak of yoga, we speak of a multitude of paths and orientations with contrasting theoretical frameworks and occasionally incompatible goals.” Georg Feuerstein (1947-2012)
Here are some photos from yesterday and today:
Had our first snow last night as winter came in like a Lion with lots of wind and driving snow. Nice pictures of the mountains and you, Rick and the dog. 🙂
That’s one of our “best” couple photos ever! I guess you could say the best thing about winter in Seattle is that it rains and rains, but in just a little over one hour drive east, there is great snow for skiing in the mountains. love, Fran
Love the picture of you and Rick, looks like a postcard! We haven’t had snow yet, but you know me I’m happy without it 🙂 even though it is pretty to look at.
