How incredibly lucky I was to be able to teach the daily morning classes in India. The yoga centered us, revived us, helped us to stay strong and flexible both in body and in mind. It helped us to feel India, to be one with India. Here are various photos our daily 7:00-8:30 a.m. yoga sessions:
Dharamsala roof top/mile high yoga at the foothills of the Himalayas:
Yoga with Gopal in Rishikesh. The Ganga was flowing right outside the yoga studio:
Delhi rooftop yoga:
My mat (in Agra-just a bit of dust on the floor):
Yoga on the 6 hour bus ride from Agra to the Delhi Airport!! I think I can market this Bus Yoga!!:
And here is the list of Small Luxuries I came up with while in India:
- Yoga in the morning (grounding, calming, energizing, gives us clarity for the day ahead)
- glass/bottle of cold water
- wet wipes for face and hands
- Air Conditioner on the bus and in our rooms
- Theresa’s nail clippers and my nail file
- Monsoon rain
- cup of masala tea
- yogurt (curd)
- a scarf around the shoulders
- kleenex tissues
- a hug!
- clean soft cool pillow
- a cool shower
- vendor who tells you it is good luck to step on dung pile in the early morning
- internet access
- freshly pressed laundered clothing
- fresh mangoes, papayas, and pineapples
- room service
- pumice stone for my feet
- clean wet hair swept off my face
- Karin’s music used for the yoga session after our intense boat ride on the Ganga in Varanasi
Your list is wonderful – it truly is all about the little things! – and I love the photo of Kelley bent nearly in half on the bus! Oh, to have been on that bus with all of you!
