Costa Rica is pure magic. The weather is perfect. Not too hot, pleasantly warm. There is a breeze in the evening that is welcome and calls for a light scarf. The retreat setting is perfect. Everyone in my group is relaxed and happy. We are in a tropical paradise.

En route to the resort for our yoga retreat!!! We did it!

This retreat was supposed to take place in April 2020. It was postponed and postponed again. When we arrived, I felt elated that this week and next week’s retreats are really happening.

Imagery for you:

Arrival day greets us with an orange sunset, the cacophony of cicadas at night, evening birdsong. Morning workouts on a sun deck looking out over rain forest and Whale’s Tale National Park. Hummingbirds delighting in the many tropical flowers. Swimming at the waterfall.

Pepe the Coati is a humorous and rambunctious raccoon-related furry creature who makes his appearance every once in a while. He keeps his distance, steals a banana here and there, and is a source of wonder and amusement. You will have to google a coati to see what he looks like.  I was here in Spring of 2019 and was very surprised to see that Pepe is still around. I asked Juan, one of the staff members, about Pepe. Apparently, another Alpha male took over Pepe’s top “dog” position in his coati family and poor Pepe was ousted from the clan. Pepe became depressed and was all alone. The folks at Vista Celestial became Pepe’s new family. They save fruit peelings for him and they tolerate his presence. Maybe I will get a photo of him yet.

Palm trees, howler monkeys grunting in the distance, butterflies, guacamole, tropical fruit, happiness.

Yin Yoga in the evenings, Hatha Yoga in the mornings, fresh air, oxygen, trees, vines, pool aerobics, and body conditioning classes.

Here is to your health.  Loving every day. Loving every second. Loving the company of Laurie, Keira, Colleen, Ray, Sarah, Miriam, Darryl, Bob, Susan, Sharon, and Kelly.

Namaste,

Fran
