My mother loved to garden. She had a green thumb and grew a variety of flowers. Among her prized flowers were roses, irises, and peonies. Her love of peonies was surprising, given how much she disliked ants. Remember, she claimed, with great disgust, where there’s one ant, there’s a legion of ants nearby. Even so, she somehow put up with the ants clustering around the peonies because she knew that without the ants, there would be no peonies.

My mother would have loved spring in Seattle! She used to say the earth smiles through flowers. Seattle Spring is quite magical. Yesterday, I took my camera with me as I walked around Green Lake.  I haven’t carried my Leica camera around in a while because the camera on my iPhone is so readily available and the photos are good enough. When using my Leica camera, I have to put my reading glasses on to focus on my subject every time I go to take a photo!! It’s very irritating and I can’t be spontaneous.  Even so, I enjoyed photographing these flowers with my Leica, thinking about how my mother would have commented on their beauty. Below you will see some of the ways the earth smiles.

And to go with spring and the spring theme of renewal, I will leave you with my teaching schedule. Link to the overall class schedule is below at the very end of this blog.  The blue highlighted classes are online and the yellow highlighted classes are in-studio. Classes can be done online via Zoom or Facebook Livestream / or / In-Studio. Register for all classes (can book up to two months in advance) at https://frangallo.com/class-schedule/

The yoga studio, Yoga By Fran Gallo, is a gem of a yoga studio in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood. In-studio sessions are small in number, with 6 yogis (sometimes 8). The studio is clean, warm, comfortable, and welcoming. The online yogis are a wonderful strong group and the in-studio yogis are slowly starting to show up. The studio is a place where my creativity blossoms, just like the flowers in this blog post! I have enough ideas on what I want to offer to last me a lifetime! I love my studio and am really enjoying sharing it with you. I continue to teach both online and in-studio classes.

All times shown on the schedule are Seattle local times. I have set the evening classes so that folks from varying US, Canada, and Mexico time zones can join in online. Please help spread the word. I have set up the studio with professional lights and mic so that the online sessions film really well!  OH! And I have a new mic system set up (with the help of Shel!!) to capture  live music on the online Zoom livestream sessions for Beyond Asana and sometimes for Restorative Yoga.
