What would we do without traditions?  This annual tradition is something I anticipate as soon as I hear about the first snowfall in the mountains: cross country skiing with Leslie at Echo Ridge in Chelan, Washington over MLK weekend.

Below are some photos from our weekend.  You will see that we are above the clouds that are nestled in the valley below.  The winter sun casts long shadows on the snow.  The light and sunsets are so special at Echo Ridge that we try to get a late start so that we can still be up on the ridge as the sunset light-show begins.
